I never really knew who said this before and it did not really made much sense until I had my daughter, my first child. Part of creating this book came from this phrase, the other part, is explained bellow.

I have always worked with PHP. Some times as freelance projects and recently (past 3 years) as a full time job. In 2009 I have taken the Zend Certification for PHP5 and for that I had to study a lot, learn a lot, get deeper in PHP language that one day I have been before. While studying I started with a blog (mcloide.wordpress.com) as a way to keep resources, libraries and every single note that I could use later for the exam.

The more I wrote on the blog, more and more people came by and kept making questions about the exam, PHP, a resource, etc. It had became a useful resource not only for me, but also for other people. Some questions where hard, some easy and in a bunch I had questions that involved the basic concepts of PHP developing and that was when I decided to create the PHP Basic Series. A series of articles pointing out the basic concepts of coding and of the PHP language.

From this series of articles I have created this book that I hope that will become a resource for any developer or rookie that is starting on web development and is checking out what language path he should follow.

It’s used from simply getting an route to a destination to finding business in a given location and that’s why is so important to put your business on the Google Maps.

A curiosity about the Google Maps business is that, every time that you go on Google.com and search for a given type of business, let’s say, for example, “sushi restaurants in the boca raton fl”, it will automatically show a list of local business and their location on the map. Those business listed there are the same business that have been added on Google Maps.

So how do you put your business on Google Maps, well it’s simple:

1st. Go to http://maps.google.com – You will see a large map and on the left side a link with “Put your business on Google Maps“. Click that link.

2nd. If a form does not automatically shows to you, click on “+ Add new listing“.

3rd. Now is just a matter of adding your company details, such as name, address, phone, email address and an small description of what your company does. It’s not required to have an website to add the company on the Google Maps, but having one, it will be shown on the listings and the user can easily get more information about your company from there.
While you enter the information, a marker will be shown on the map, check it’s position and if necessary, fix the marker location on the map. It will give a user that is looking for a route a better precision to your business.

4rth. Hit next and Google will ask you to verify the information that you have entered. There are 2 ways to do that, or they either call you (on the phones that you have entered) or you can request them to send a postcard to your business address.

Opting for Google calling you is better, since the validation by mail can take as long as 3 weeks to be completed and your business will only show on Google Maps after that.

[Note] During this validation process a pin number is given to your company and it can only be validated with Google when the pin number is entered on your listing.

This is the most efficient and least expensive way to put your business on Google and generating leads from it.
